Artist’s Statement
It so happens that my artistic experience is based on observation. Since early childhood, I have
been drawing a lot from my head and from nature. I am used to working in difficult, uncomfortable conditions – which accompany me. I am very inspired by ancient icons, archaic. Drawing is a way of my most fulfilling worldview. Therefore, despite the lack of space, time, and energy in recent years, I am looking for them – and I paint at night in the kitchen. It’s a need or even an addiction. Thanks to drawing, I can handle a lot of things. I am interested in solving simple pictorial tasks, I want the ideas to be plastic, color ones. That would be enough. Although there must be meanings and references. It is sweet and dear to me, one might say, the senseless stubbornness with which I try to solve probably quite similar tasks over and over again, each time hoping to rediscover something. My work is also a diary, my memory.
