Pam Sheehan is the maker of artifacts with timeless integrity. Her sense of the complete presence of a piece of artwork, where image and substance are perfectly married, is exceptional. Her tonal paintings depict landscape, still life and animals in a just-so but painterly stillness. She has the eyes of an artist, craftsman, and curator all at once making the emotional idea into image, the image into physical substance and physical substance into context.  Much of this fusion comes with the territory of a master frame-maker.  This torch was passed to her from her late husband, the frame-maker and painter Bob Kulicke. Sheehan immerses herself into the life and logic of a frame just as she does her paintings, seeing them to an uncompromised and honest completion. As such, the paintings and frames become one— material evidence and signifier of quality at it’s most refined.
